Distributed Leadership Practices in a University-School Partnership
Daniel J. Quinn is a doctoral student at Oakland University; executive director of the Great Lakes Center for Education Research and Practice; and a teacher at Grosse Pointe North High School. Additionally, Daniel is co-teaching Collaborative Action Research in the Teacher Development and Educational Studies (TDES) department at Oakland University. He is currently in the pre-proposal stages for his dissertation. This proposal is currently entitled “Distributed Leadership Practices in a University-School Partnership.”
Daniel earned his M.Ed. from Saginaw Valley State University (2002), and completed his undergraduate degree at Bowling Green State University (1997). In 2012, he was named an Emerging Leader by Phi Delta Kappa International. He was the keynote speaker for the Fall 2013 Teacher Education Conference for the Consortium of State Organizations of Texas Teacher Education (CSOTTE). He has been published in Kappan magazine and has had blogs featured by the Center for Great Teachers & Leaders at American Institutes for Research (AIR), and by Michigan State University’s Green & Write Education Policy Research Insights. For 2014-15, Dan was the recipient of the Larry E. Frase Memorial Scholarship for Educational Research, sponsored by the PDK International Educational Foundation. Additionally, he was selected for the William L. Boyd National Education Politics Workshop, hosted by the Politics of Education Association at AERA in 2014 & 2015.
