Fern Kay Harris Biography
As a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership from Central Michigan University, I am working toward completion of my dissertation entitled: Adult Learner Satisfaction and Success in Higher Education Online Learning. I also serve as a Graduate Research Assistant for the Educational Leadership Department. With an Educational Specialist degree and a Masters in Reading, I teach as an Associate Professor in the Global Campus Programs for CMU.
I have taught courses in literacy at the Traverse City Center and the Reading Practicum Clinic in centers in the Detroit area. I retired two years ago from a career in K-12 education where I primarily worked with upper elementary and middle school students in literacy. I have two daughters, Meghan and Cora, who live in Seattle and Chicago. I am looking forward to beginning my full-time career in higher education upon completion of my dissertation.
