Biography

Picture
Linda K. Foran

Linda Foran has extensive experience in education with over 34 years as a teacher and principal. Two of her schools were awarded Michigan Blue Ribbon Exemplary Schools and she has presented at Oakland Intermediate School District. After retiring as a middle school principal, she worked as Director of Academic Accountability for a charter school management company and then was accepted into the doctoral program at Eastern Michigan University. This has led to multiple research opportunities for three professors and her role as an instructor for EDLD 515: Instructional Leadership; EDLD 617: Administrating Human Resources in Education; EDLD 514: Administration and Organization of K-12 Schools; and UNIV 101L: a university study skills class.

While at EMU, Linda has been awarded several scholarships at the 2012 and 2013 Graduate Research Fair for her research on principals’ perceptions of the Michigan mandatory teacher evaluation policy. She is successfully moving through the dissertation process on this topic and hopes to graduate in the near future.
